Women in Blues Manitoba is a concert event created, promoted, and organized by Katblues Productions that was founded in 2005. It was created to bring opportunity to Manitoba's Women of the Blues within a concert setting, highlighting the blues genre and the women that love it. There have been four concerts, and one CD release. The CD was recorded live at Winnipeg’s Home of the Blues, The Windsor Hotel on Oct. '08. The first WIB CD of it’s kind in Manitoba and maybe Canada was released Feb. '09. It has received national and international radio play including CBC's Holger Peterson and his Saturday Night Blues. It is soon to be a permanent fixture in John Einerson's Manitoba Music Exhibit as the first CD of its kind! Manitoba artists involved so far include Debra Lyn Neufeld, Angel Calnek, Shelley Lynne Hardinge and Kathy Kennedy. Artists in 2010 include Tracy K Mastaler, Angel Calnek, Kathy Kennedy and Claire Bestland.
